canon c300 m2Head up videographers, if you’re particularly serious about your hobby/profession and you’re looking to get your hands on some new gear, you might be interested to learn that Canon has officially announced the Canon EOS C300 Mark II cinema camera. As you can see in the image above, this is a camera designed for videographers and filmmakers in mind.

The camera has the ability to shoot at 4K resolution which is an upgrade over its predecessor which could not handle 4K footage natively. It will be powered by a pair of DIGIC DV 5 processors and will come with an ISO range of up to 102,400, meaning that if you’re shooting videos in low light and don’t have an external light sources, bumping the ISO should make it work at the expense of some noise.

The camera will come with an 8.85MP Super 35mm CMOS sensor and will also be able to handle shooting video in lower resolutions for those that feel that 4K is unnecessary. This includes Full HD and 2K DCI. For 4K shooters, there are two options to choose from which includes 4K UHD and 4K DCI. The camera itself will also come in two options with either an EF or PL mount, depending on your need and your lens collection.

So how much will the Canon EOS C300 Mark II set you back? Like we said this is a camera for serious filmmakers and it is expected to cost a whopping $20,000 and will be launched later this year in September.
