ch4-fart-trackerWhile April Fool’s Day has been over for a month now, this is one particular device that is not a joke. In fact, it oozes with seriousness, that is what it is. I am referring to the CH4, which is a device that has been made available over on Kickstarter so that it can raise the necessary funds to get things going. The CH4 happens to be a portable device that has been specially designed in order for it to keep track of one’s personal exhaust fumes, or in other words, one’s fart.

The reason behind this seemingly bizarre contraption is to help you discover the various meals that would make you fart the least. After all, we do know that one who farts does get into extremely uncomfortable situations, especially if you so happen to be cooped up in the same elevator, and it is a long ride either up or down.

How does the CH4 work? You will need to place this diminutive device (in the form of a clip-on sensor) on the rear of your belt, or even inside your back pocket. From there, it will begin to keep track of your daily “dose” of flatulences. The sensor itself will communicate through Bluetooth using a companion iPhone app (there is work on an Android version in the pipeline) which will let you keep track of your food intake, as these will be categorized by food type, in addition to making a connection with the number of times you’ve broken wind throughout the past 24 hours.
