apple-store-chinaApple’s iOS devices are extremely popular and highly coveted around the world, which also means that iOS apps are also being downloaded all over the world, but is there a particular market in which iOS apps are doing better in compared to others? Well it looks like that crown has been passed to China.

According to recent stats released by App Annie, it has been revealed that the most downloaded iOS apps are coming out of China. Back in Q4 2014, China was actually in the number two spot with the United States leading the way, but App Annie’s stats have revealed that in Q1 2015, China actually stole that crown from the US and is now ranked number one.

Given China’s population and the popularity of the iPhone in the country, we guess this doesn’t come as a complete surprise. That being said despite China having the biggest iOS app downloads, the US is still leading the way in terms of app revenue. In fact China is ranked third in this regard.

It will be interesting to see if China will be able to maintain their position for the next few quarters, or if the US will somehow be able to catch up and snag their number one position again. Coming in at third, fourth, and fifth are Japan, the United Kingdom, and Russia. Based on App Annie’s ranking, it seems that these countries have managed to hold their positions from the last quarter.
