facebook-hello

After testing a launcher for Android devices, which didn’t do so well, Facebook is now testing a new dialer app. The company today introduced Hello. It’s a new dialer app for Android smartphones that has been built by the Messenger team. It connects with users’ Facebook to offer features like caller ID replacement, search feature for people and places as well as the ability to block unwanted calls.

If you have Hello installed it will bring up information about who’s calling you when you receive a call, even if you don’t have that number saved on your device. Only information that people have shared with you on Facebook will be displayed.

You will also be able to search for people and businesses on Facebook and then call them with just one tap. Hello also makes it easy to block unwanted calls.

Head over to settings to block individual numbers or if you want all calls automatically blocked if they’re coming in from commonly blocked numbers. Blocked call will go directly to voicemail where they can be reviewed in recent calls.

Hello is available for download right away from the Google Play Store. Facebook reminds us that it’s currently testing this app so it remains to be see if the company decides to keep it around for long.
