The latest movie in the Fast and Furious franchise is hitting the big screen in a couple of days. The cast is on a publicity tour, hitting up screenings and late night talk shows to generate buzz for the new movie. Vin Diesel, who plays a very important part in the entire franchise, has revealed that the Fast and Furious 8 movie is going to be based in New York.
Now that’s not what the next movie might be called, since the studio hasn’t actually confirmed it yet, but it can be referred to as Fast and Furious 8. Diesel talked about the next movie during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel.
Diesel also revealed that Kurt Russell will be playing an important part in the next movie. Russell joined the cast in Fast and Furious 7 as a government agent. Diesel says that while Russell came in for this movie “we really hired him because of a story that follows this that takes place in New York.”
Aside from revealing that the next movie will be set in New York, Vin Diesel didn’t reveal any more details about it. His appearance on Jimmy Kimmel was meant to promote Furious 7 and that’s precisely what he did.
There is no confirmation yet from the studio about Fast and Furious 8 so it cannot even be assumed right now when that movie will be released.
