Just last week Activision confirmed that a new Guitar Hero is in the works – Guitar Hero Live. The game introduced new controllers and for those wondering how this will play, compared to the old ones, you might be interested in checking out the video above which was released by FreeStyleGames, the developers behind the upcoming title.

Basically the video is a behind-the-scenes video which shows the development process of the game. It shows how they filmed the “live” audience versus computer generated models, and how they got real band members to come on stage to jam with you while you rock out to the soundtracks offered in the game.

More importantly it also shows off the new six-button guitar controller which will released alongside the game. This new six-button controller also essentially renders older instruments gamers might have bought for previous titles obsolete. However the good news is that the folks at Harmonix have confirmed that older Guitar Hero instruments will work with their upcoming Rock Band 4 title despite both being competing games.

Guitar Hero Live has yet to receive an official launch date but it will be available across multiple platforms including the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Wii U.
