It takes a whole lot more to keep a good soldier down, and a cross platform title does not sound like too bad an idea, especially when you consider just what kind of franchise that we are talking about here – that of Halo. For fans of the franchise, you will be pleased to hear that Halo: Spartan Strike has launched today across multiple platforms, and they are Windows 8, Windows Phone 8, iPhone, iPad and Steam, of course.

This happens to be the most recent mobile top-down shooter that will have anything to do with the Halo universe, and it is now official. Both Microsoft Studios and 343 Industries, working alongside Vanguard Games, has revealed Halo: Spartan Strike on the above mentioned platforms, where it will arrive in the form of a digital download for $5.99 a pop, although it would not be too far off the mark to say that the price and availability could very well vary depending on the region.

The game is set during the events of Halo 2 on New Mombasa in 2552, and there are 30 different and very challenging missions as one leads UNSC troops via cities and jungles, having access to a spanking new arsenal of weapons, abilities and vehicles. [Press Release]
