You might have heard by now that music mogul Jay Z is now in the music streaming business. He acquired and relaunched Tidal, a $20 subscription music service that promises high-fidelity streaming. Sure it’s doing something that its rivals are not but the price point is just too high for some people to justify subscribing to Tidal, perhaps tickets to an exclusive Jay Z concert might help change their minds?

There has been a lot of criticism heaped on Tidal recently particularly because of its higher price point. Most users don’t have equipment for high-fidelity music anyway, and it’s not likely everybody can discern between the two, so they’ll be better off paying $9.99 for the likes of Spotify, etc.

Jay Z isn’t going to take it for much longer. He recently went on a Twitter rant to justify Tidal’s approach and proclaimed that his music streaming service is here to stay.

A couple of weeks back it was reported that Mr. Carter was calling Tidal subscribers himself to thank them for choosing the service.

Now Jay Z is going to put together private exclusive concerts for Tidal users, the first will take place on May 13th in New York at an undisclosed venue. One must be a Tidal user to get a chance to win a ticket.

Tidal users have to create and tweet a playlist with the hashtag #TIDALXJAYZ before May 8th, winners will be randomly selected based on the diversity of artists and genres in their playlists.
