lumia 540Many are still waiting for Microsoft to officially launch their flagship Lumia device. After all some of Nokia’s previous flagships are starting to get a little long in the tooth. Unfortunately that has yet to happen, but in the meantime it looks like Microsoft is still going after the entry and mid-range markets as the Redmond company has officially announced the Lumia 540 Dual SIM.

The handset has been priced at $150 making it a pretty affordable handset and with its specs, it doesn’t seem particularly shabby either. For starters the phone will feature a 5-inch 720p HD display. It will be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 chipset clocked at 1.2GHz and will be accompanied by 1GB of RAM. It will also come with 8GB of storage on board but it will support microSD cards for memory expansion.

In terms of cameras, the Lumia 540 will come with an 8MP rear-facing camera and a 5MP front-facing camera with a wide-angle lens for those who love taking selfies. There will also be a 2,200mAh battery under the hood which can be removed. Like we said this isn’t a particularly high-end handset but its specs appear to be pretty decent and should be more than enough to get the job done.

The handset will be released next month and will be targeted at IMEA, Italy, and APAc regions.
