Developer Slightly Mad Studios’ racing title Project Cars was originally supposed to be released in November 2014 but it has actually been delayed thrice since then because the developer needed more time to bring the game up to the mark. The folks at Slightly Mad Studios include veterans of Need for Speed: Shift so they do know what they’re doing. Today they’ve provided us with the new Project Cars release date and hopefully there won’t be any more delays.

Project Cars has been picked up for full distribution by Bandai Namco. It announced today that the title will be released throughout the Americas for PC via Steam on May 6th.

The game will also be making its way to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, console owners will have to wait a couple of days, for them Project Cars will be released on May 12th.

With Project Cars the developer aims to provide “the most authentic, beautiful, intense and technically-advanced racing game” on the planet. It has been crowdfunded by a passionate community that was looking for just that kind of an experience.

Naturally fans’ expectations are very high and given that they’ve kept up with three delays, they’ll certainly demand a top-notch experience when Project Cars is finally released next month.
