A few days ago we reported that it was possible that the new “game changing” product that OnePlus was planning on launching could be a drone. As it turns out it looks like all the speculation was right on the money as the company has officially announced the OnePlus DR-1 drone, although we’re not sure what exactly it is about the DR-1 that makes it a game changer per se.

The OnePlus DR-1 drone is tiny we’ll give it that. It spans about 70mm wide which should have no problems fitting in your palm or slipping into a bag, or maybe a pocket if you have extra baggy pants. However what’s disappointing is that a controller will still be needed to control the drone versus using a smartphone app so it’s not as portable as we thought.

The drone has a flight time of 7-8 minutes and can be fully recharged in 20 minutes, and we suppose the best part of it all is that it will cost you a very affordable $20. making it one of the more affordable drones we’ve seen, although given its size we doubt that you will be able to attach a camera to it and use it to record cool videos.

The OnePlus DR-1 will be available for purchase via the company’s website, but according to the company it will be a special edition product and is limited in quantity, so you’ll probably want to place a pre-order before they run out of stock. So, any takers?
