The Opera Mini browser has its own dedicated user base. Millions of people around the globe use this browser on their devices, and those who use it on Android are in for a treat today. The company has released a revamped version of its browser for Android which brings major changes to the table. The plethora of new features are likely to attract new features, and stop old ones from jumping ship.

The new Opera Mini 8 for Android brings a revamped user interface which puts the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen, which means that buttons are precisely where users would expect them to be.

Speed Dial has received a fresh coat of paint as well and it will now display icons instead of thumbnails. It has been combined with Discover to create a new start page.

Those who use high-end Android devices will like the new browser even more as it works better with their displays courtesy of high DPI support.

Additional features included in the latest release are private browsing tabs, a new data counter which will tell users how much data they’re saving as well as support for new swipe gestures.

Opera estimates that the new browser is going to save an additional 10 percent of data for users, which is actually one of the major reasons why people use Opera in the first place.

Opera Mini 8 is live now and available for download through the Google Play Store.
