There hasn’t been much talk lately about the PlayStation Vita version of Resident Evil Revelations 2. Many would have started to believe that perhaps this version might not be released at all. Fortunately before such rumors started circulating Sony has come out with a confirmation. The company has confirmed Resident Evil Revelations 2 PS Vita release for later this year.

Sony says that as the final episode of Revelations 2 was recently released on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, it now has all the code that’s required to port the title over to PlayStation Vita.

Gio Corsi, Director of third party production at SCEA writes on the official PlayStation blog that the team at Frima Studio is “knee-deep” in the production of Resident Evil Revelations 2 for PlayStation Vita.

Corsi did not provide a concrete release date but confirms that the Vita version is “coming digitally this summer.” It’s promised that when the team gets closer to locking down Vita-specific gameplay and features that’s when fans will receive a firm release date.

All four episodes of Resident Evil Revelations 2 will be included in the PlayStation Vita version of the title, including any released DLC. At launch Raid Mode, single-player will be included but online co-op Raid Mode and ad-hoc modes will be released after the game is launched through an update.
