Rithm-screensThere are plenty of music streaming services available at the moment and for the most part these platforms more or less offer the same songs, particularly if you’re into more mainstream music. What this means is that companies will have to largely compete on price in order to attract new customers, and Rithm is a new platform that could be a worthy competitor.

The platform has been in beta for a while now but it has finally been released to the public. Its asking price? A meager $3.99 a month which is cheaper than Spotify who charges $9.99 a month, and let’s not forget Tidal whose premium lossless subscription service will go as high as $19.99 a month. Rithm has also partnered with the major labels such as Universal, Sony, and Warner Brothers so for the most part, you should have access to a ton of music.

There will also be indie labels that are part of Rithm’s catalogue so if mainstream isn’t your thing, you will have some indie choices to choose from. Apart from price, what makes Rithm potentially more appealing is its social nature. It lets you send messages to your friends in an instant messaging style. From there users can recommend songs and get notified when your friends listen to it.

Rithm has also teamed up with various artists to create a variety of animated stickers and emojis which users can send to one another to make the experience more lively. It’s actually interesting to see Rithm launch at a cheaper price which is something Apple had tried but failed. If you’d like to check it out, you can download the app via the iTunes App Store or the Google Play Store.
