We’ve seen many unnecessary and brutal tests that YouTubers have put new phones through. Heck it wasn’t too long ago that someone tried to burn the Samsung Galaxy S6 to see how much heat it could withstand, and now we have a new test – boiling hot water! YouTuber TechRax has recently uploaded a video in which we get to see both the Galaxy S6 and the iPhone 6 boiled alive.

We’re not sure what the goal is since we’re pretty sure that both Samsung and Apple have not designed either handset to be waterproof, let alone being submerged in boiling hot water, but hey it’s all done in the name of “science”, right? As it turns out it seems that the Galaxy S6 managed to withstand the boiling water for much longer than the iPhone 6.

In the video above, you will see that the iPhone 6’s display starts fading to black in a rather ugly manner and ultimately turning itself off in the process. The Galaxy S6 on the other hand appears to be holding its own with the timer continuing to run way after the iPhone 6 turned itself off. As expected at the end, neither phone made it out alive, although in the case of the iPhone 6, the Apple logo did flash on the screen briefly but after that, nothing.
