The S Health app from Samsung that was previously available only through the Galaxy Apps Store has now been released on Google. It will enable users to easily update the application when the need arises. Still, the app will only work with compatible Samsung smartphones, don’t expect to be able to use it on your Nexus 6.

Another benefit of unbundling the app from the Galaxy Apps Store and offering it through the Play Store is that the devices which have been updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop will now be able to get on the latest version of S Health.

The app’s latest version was shipped with the Galaxy S6, so devices that have been updated to Lollipop like the Galaxy S4 or Galaxy Note 4 can now get this version of the health and fitness app from Samsung.

As previously mentioned the app will only work with Samsung’s devices even though the app has been released on the Google Play Store which any and all Android devices can access.

Using the S Health app users can track their heart rates, stress levels, steps, daily calorie intake and other parameters. Samsung S Health is live now and available as a free download from the Google Play Store.
