sony-xperia-z3-z3v-review-05It is no secret that when it comes to mobile devices, Sony isn’t as prominent compared to some of the bigger players in the market, such as Apple, Samsung, or even LG. In fact earlier this year we heard reports about Sony cutting jobs from their mobile division and that they might even be open to the idea of selling their mobile division off, like what they did with their VAIO computing division.

That being said if you’re a fan of Sony’s mobile devices, it looks like the company wants to reassure its customers that they are here to stay. This is according to Sony Mobile’s marketing director for the UK, Ireland, and Benelux Catherine Cherry who was quoted as saying, “Sony Mobile is here to say, we are absolutely going to focus on delivering profitable growth.”

This is a rather interesting statement as a few weeks ago, Sony’s CEO Kazuo Hirai spoke to the BBC in which he said that there was no guarantee for its mobile division, and that the division had to keep a closer eye on its returns based on the investments it makes. To help achieve that growth, Sony Mobile has been aggressively promoting its Sony Xperia Z3 handset which Cherry claims is its best selling smartphone ever.

That being said many users are probably still looking forward to the Sony Xperia Z4, although there are some of its specs such as its Full HD display rather than QHD that has us puzzled, but what say you? Do you think Sony has what it takes to stay in the mobile industry?
