uncharted3

Information gathered from the emails and documents leaked during the Sony hack reveal that the studio wants the Uncharted movie to be more “intense” than the National Treasure franchise, but not as “silly.” The studio also wants to have a deeper romantic storyline than the Nicholas Cage starring franchise. Leaked information also reveals that Mark Wahlberg is no longer in the running to play Nathan Drake.

You might have heard last year when Sony Pictures got hacked by a group calling itself the Guardians of Peace. The studio’s computer systems were knocked down and a plethora of data was stolen, including but not limited to emails and employees’ personal information.

WikiLeaks recently published a searchable archive of all data that was leaked during the hack because the organization believes that it belongs in the public domain. Information about the Uncharted movie was obtained by Gamespot as it went through relevant files.

Apparently The Hurt Locker writer Mark Boal is now attached to the project, he will be polishing up the screenplay that’s written by David Guggenheim. Expect a deeper romantic storyline between Nathan and Elena, which will be “a lot sexier and more fun as the romantic tension in National Treasure was pretty lame.”

With Mark Wahlberg out of the running, other actors being considered for Nathan include Chris Hemsworth and Channing Tatum. The Uncharted movie is said to be more engaging and intense for adults but will also appeal to younger teens.

The Uncharted movie, directed by Seth Gordon, is expected to be released in June 2016.
