YouTube has published a post, which states the changes that are being made to its app interface. The post talks about YouTube’s future app support for certain devices, and unfortunately it also enlists many “older” devices that won’t be receiving its app support any further.

In accordance with the public post, YouTube is presently upgrading its Data API, and as a repercussion, it is dropping the support for devices that are old. All these devices include, Sony’s TVs and Blu-ray players, and also the devices that are running Google TV. The list also includes, older Apple TV, and also the iOS devices that have been manufactured in the year 2012 or before.

The impact caused would be – the YouTube application on the aforementioned devices will stop functioning, which will be a major setback on the smart functioning of these devices. To justify its course of action, YouTube states that they are focusing on bringing new features to the app and also making it better in terms of interface, and that would only be possible on the devices that are manufactured in the year 2013 or after.

It would be interesting to see how users (older devices owners) react to these major changes made by YouTube.
