assassin's creed syndicatePretty much every Assassin’s Creed game that has been released over the years has an accompanying mobile app. Last year’s Assassin’s Creed Unity was no different as a companion app for iOS and Android devices was released, so would it be a safe assumption to think that this year’s title will have similar treatment?

If you answered yes, you might be disappointed to learn that Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will not be launched with a companion app. According to a statement released to Eurogamer by a Ubisoft spokesperson, “There will not be a companion app. For Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, the team wanted to focus all their efforts on the core experience.”

So is this a good or bad thing? Well for gamers who just want to focus on the game, we suppose having the team behind the game dedicate themselves to creating a great game would be preferred. However we suppose there are gamers who looking to squeeze as much content out of the game as possible and sometimes the companion app allows gamers to do that.

In the meantime other changes that Ubisoft will be bringing to Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is the removal of the multiplayer feature which means that it will be a purely story-driven game. Ubisoft has also made it so that players have the option of playing as a female assassin, something Ubisoft is looking to correct after the backlash they received in Unity. Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is pegged for a release on the 23rd of October later this year.
