Major tech companies spend insane amounts of money to build their offices around a certain theme and design language, it’s yet another avenue for them to show off their creative sides. Silicon Valley is peppered with such buildings as it’s home to some of the world’s biggest technology companies. On the other hand a Chinese game development outfit is happy to take inspiration from Star Trek’s USS Enterprise for its new offices, the facility has been developed at a cost of $97 million and it does resemble the Enterprise.

As a result of this unique design the offices of NetDragon Websoft are 260-meter long and look as if they’re a part of Star Trek’s USS Enterprise.

NetDragon’s founder Liu Dejian, who also happens to sit on the board of Chinese tech giant Baidu, is reportedly a fan of Star Trek which is why he had his company’s new offices designed and constructed in the shape of the Enterprise.

The structure is located in China’s Fujian province and construction on it is said to have started back in October 2010. China may be popular for companies that create knock offs but NetDragon made sure the legal process was followed.

The show’s rights holder CBS was contacted, reports WSJ, and initially they thought this was a joke. It was only after they sent over the legal documents did they really believe that someone in China wants to build their offices modeled on the USS Enterprise.
