Chromebooks have steadily become popular and they have carved a nice little niche for themselves in the notebook market. Many students and even professionals appreciate the cloud-OS based notebooks for the portability and ease of use they offer, and Google has made sure that there are plenty of options for all price points by launching high-end Chromebook models as well. Rumor has it that the company is going to launch two new Chromebooks this year.
As previously mentioned, Chromebook sales have surged in recent years and according to a recent report, sales might hit 7.5 million units by the end of 2015, and that’s in a declining PC market.
As per the rumor, Google’s upcoming Chromebooks will have detachable keyboards on both the 12.85 inch and 10.1 inch models which will have an NVIDIA Tegra 6 and Rockchip processor respectively. The latter will obviously be a mid-range model as opposed to the Tegra powered high-end Chromebook.
It is also said that Google will ensure that Android plays even more nicely with Chrome OS so users should look forward to features like shared interface elements, easy unlock, the ability to run Android apps easily and much more.
None of this has been officially confirmed by Google as yet, feel free to be skeptical, rumors don’t always turn out to be true.
