Early this year, Square Enix filed a trademark for the title “Lara Croft: Relic Run”. Safe to say the title didn’t leave much to the imagination as this was obviously a Tomb Raider-related game. The title also led to speculation that we could be looking at a Temple Run-esque endless runner and we were later proven right by the game’s official announcement.

Now the game was originally released in the Netherlands back in April as part of a soft launch and the good news is that if you were interested in taking the game for a spin (or a run), you will be pleased to learn that the game has now been officially released worldwide, so all you’d have to do is head on over to the iTunes App Store or Google Play for the free download.

For gamers who aren’t a fan of in-app purchases, sorry to disappoint but it looks like the game will feature it. Gamers will be able to purchase items such as gems and coins which can be used towards helping you advance in the game, although it seems that it isn’t really a necessity as the game is still somewhat enjoyable without it.

According to the game’s developers back then during its launch, “Many of you have correctly mused that Relic Run is an adventure runner, and at its core it is, but we feel that it’s much more than that. Relic Run offers a massive amount of diversity in play, allowing for seamless transitions between acrobatic-inspired running, combat, vehicles, and epic boss fights, including but not limited to the return of the infamous T-Rex.”

In the meantime you can check out the game’s trailer and gameplay in the video above.
