lg_lancetWe’re sure most of you guys know by now that LG is working on a Windows Phone handset, which at the moment has been dubbed the LG Lancet although we’re not sure if this is a codename or the name of the actual phone. The phone is also expected to make its way onto Verizon, but the question is when?

According to the folks at PhoneArena, one of their readers sent in some information regarding the handset’s release and if the information is any accurate, it seems that fans of the Windows Phone platform can look forward to the LG Lancet being released on Verizon come 21st of May. Verizon or LG have yet to confirm this so take it with a grain of salt for now.

Now for those who haven’t heard of the LG Lancet, here’s a quick recap of some of its specs. The phone is expected to sport a 4.5-inch display with a rather low resolution of 480×854. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2GHz with 8GB of onboard storage, along with support for a microSD card in the event that the user wants to expand said storage.

It will also feature an 8MP rear-facing camera, a 0.3MP front-facing camera, and will come with Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 preinstalled with Cortana out of the box. It will also come with some LG specific features such as Knock On, Soft Light, and gestures that triggers the camera’s shutter. Pricing has yet to be revealed but check back with us next week for the details.
