nokia-lumia-920-review-016-640x426The Lumia 940 is an upcoming handset from Microsoft that we have been hearing about for a while now. If the rumors are to be believed, the phone could very well be Microsoft’s next-gen flagship that would most probably be launched after the release of Windows 10 Mobile. That being said, updated specs have surfaced courtesy of WMPowerUser.

Previously we had heard of the Lumia 940 but it seems that it could also get a larger cousin in the form of the Lumia 940 XL. For the most part both phones appear to be identical with some minor differences in its hardware. For starters the Lumia 940 is said to feature a 5.2-inch display and will come with a 3,000mAh battery.

As for the Lumia 940 XL, as the XL suffix suggests, this will be a slightly larger phone and will feature a 5.7-inch display. Both phones however, will sport a QHD resolution so on paper the Lumia 940 will have a slightly sharper display compared to the Lumia 940 XL. The XL version will also come with a larger 3,300mAh battery and will be powered by a Snapdragon 808 processor.

Unfortunately WMPowerUser did not specify what processor the Lumia 940 will be powered by, but last we heard it could use a Snapdragon 805. Other than that, both phones will feature 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a 20MP rear-facing camera. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully the official details of either handset will be revealed soon.
