If you’re a fan of the Monster Hunter franchise and you’ve kind of made your way through Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, you will be pleased to learn that Capcom has announced a new Monster Hunter title in the form of Monster Hunter X, and just like its predecessor, this new title will be available on the Nintendo 3DS platform.

The announcement was made in Japan which means that its initial launch will most probably be targeted towards the Japanese market, but hopefully the game will see a release stateside and in other countries eventually. Monster Hunter X has also been pegged for a Winter 2015 release meaning that we will most likely be able to expect the game towards the end of the year.

That being said given that Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate was launched in Japan in 2013 and only released and localized for western markets in early 2015, there is a good chance that gamers in the west will have to wait a fair bit before they can get their hands on the game, but here’s hoping that the developers will be able to work faster this time.

The game appears to be rather flashy as it will introduce special moves for almost every weapon. There also appears to be new weapons and new attacks so that’s something gamers can look forward to. In the meantime to whet your appetite, check out the action-packed trailer in the video above.
