nintendo-wii-u-review-10Despite the fact that we know that Nintendo is working on a new console codenamed NX, it does not mean that the company will cease to focus on the Nintendo Wii U. In fact according to Nintendo’s President Satoru Iwata, the company still has a handful of unannounced Wii U titles that are expected to be launched before April 2016.

According to Iwata who revealed this to the company’s investors, “These are the already announced Wii U titles that will be released in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2016, and there are also unannounced titles that are not listed here. Among these titles, there are games that actively utilise the Wii U GamePad, including several we showed at E3 last year that are considered part of the Wii U GamePad utilisation project led by Mr. Miyamoto.”

What does this mean? It means that given that these games will be launched before April 2016, it leaves E3 as the perfect opportunity for Nintendo to show off what they’ve got, so hopefully we will get to hear some announcements and see some trailers and gameplay at the event which takes place next month. Alternatively these titles could also be announced during Nintendo Direct, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled all the same.
