Don’t keep your fingers crossed to get information regarding new and exciting things planned for PlayStation at GamesCom 2015. Instead Sony’s gaming unit is going to go with a much more intimate press event in Paris, this according to a new report, which claims that PlayStation isn’t going to have a presence at GamesCom 2015.

This is a surprising move on the company’s part because Sony has chosen GamesCom in the past multiple times to announce plans for PlayStation in Europe, in the recent past it has used GamesCom to show off major new titles for the PlayStation 4.

Other announcements made by Sony at GamesCom in the past include the PlayStation 4 price drop, television support for the console as well as new titles for the latest console.

Videogamer reports that Sony has confirmed PlayStation won’t have a presence at GamesCom 2015. Sony will conduct a European press event nonetheless at the Paris Games Week which takes place in October. Sony has made this decision after a year it started conducting the PlayStation Experience event in Las Vegas late last year.

Another major gaming convention is the E3 2015 that’s going to take place in a few weeks, Sony is yet to confirm its plans for this convention, but there’s nothing to indicate so far that Sony is going to forge E3 2015 as well. It may just be business as usual.
