Sony-Xperia-A4_1-730x694It seems that these days Sony is more focused on the Japanese market, as evidenced with the launch of the Xperia Z4 which many had assumed was Sony’s flagship phone and that it would be released around the world. That being said it looks like Sony is back with yet another Japanese-only phone in the form of the Xperia A4.

Unlike the Xperia Z4, the Xperia A4 appears to be a mid-range device. It will feature a 4.6-inch HD display and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset clocked at 2.5GHz. It will be accompanied by 2GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard storage, and support for microSD cards in the event that the user wants to add more memory.

It will also pack a 20.7MP Exmor R camera on the back and a 2.2MP front-facing camera. Under the hood a 2,600mAh battery will accompany the phone and it will also be IPX5,8 and IP6X certified for water and dust resistance. It will also come with Android 5.0 Lollipop preinstalled although it will be accompanied by Sony’s own UI.

Like we said it’s a mid-range device with not much to shout about, however hopefully it will be launched outside of Japan soon, kind of the like the Xperia Z4 where there are rumors that Verizon could be thinking of launching the phone soon.
