It was confirmed earlier this year that the much loved TV show from the ’90s that was all about finding the paranormal truth out there will be returning soon. The X-Files had an epic nine season run and two theatrical films were released too. After ending its network run in 2012 and staying out of the spotlight for more than a decade, The X-Files new episodes will be airing next year.

The X-Files is coming back to Fox as a limited series with a six episode run. The show’s executive producer and creator Chris Carter thinks of the time in between as a “13-year commercial break.”

In the new The X-Files episodes fans will see the original cast take up their roles once again with David Duchovny returning as Agent Fox Mulder and Gillian Anderson once again stepping into the shoes of Agent Dana Scully.

Back when the announcement was made about this limited series it wasn’t revealed precisely when the new episodes will be aired but now Fox has finally confirmed that information.

The X-Files new episodes will start their network air run on January 24th, 2016 at 10 pm ET after the NFL’s NFC Championship Game.

The series premiere will be spread across two nights with the second episodes being aired on January 25th, 2016 at 8 pm ET which will then be the regular time slot for the remaining four episodes.
