galaxy s6 batteryOpening up the box to your brand new device and discovering that there’s scratches can be frustrating. Discovering that the cable is broken can be frustrating. Discovering that there is a missing accessory can also be frustrating, but we can’t imagine what it must feel like to open the package only to discover that your battery has blown up inside of it.

According to one particular user, he has claim to have received a Samsung Galaxy S6 where upon opening its packaging, he discovered that the battery had somehow managed to get blown up during the transportation process. As you can see in the image above, the back of the phone is blown up due to the pressure from the blown up battery.

Unsurprisingly Samsung quickly took the phone back from the user and offered him a brand new one. Now we can’t be sure how is it that the phone’s battery exploded during its transportation, but we have to admit that it is pretty scary. If it exploded it could have meant that at some point during transportation it was close to exploding, so imagine if the phone blew up while the person was using it.

Now we can’t be 100% certain that this user is telling us a real story or if it was fabricated. However previously we have heard of batteries exploding and catching on fire, so this isn’t exactly a stretch of the imagination, although for the most part they were due to using third-party chargers.
