girl-selfie

Many people tend to get creative with the selfies they take so they bring in props or other objects that could somehow add more depth to a picture of their face. Apparently that’s what a 21-year old Russian woman was trying to do as she pointed a 9mm handgun at her head only for the purpose of taking a selfie, what followed next was not what you’d expect.

According to Agence France-Presse the woman was in her office and she came across the 9mm handgun which had been left behind by the security guard. She might have thought that it would make for a good selfie if she could show the world that she had a gun pointed at her head.

I don’t quite get what that selfie would have conveyed to the world, the logic behind that would probably be best explained by that woman, perhaps she thought that the gun wasn’t loaded or maybe she just forgot to check.

Instead of getting the selfie the gun went off and subsequently made things much worse, according to the report she has survived but is still in a serious condition.

I’m sure there’s a lesson in there for all of us, never play around with a firearm left behind by someone just for the sake of a cool selfie particularly when you might not be capable enough to safely handle it.

This isn’t the first time that someone has shot themselves while trying to take a selfie, last year a 21-year old man from Mexico City shot himself in the head doing precisely the same thing.
