A couple of months back the YouTube for Kids app emerged on the scene, the app aims to make it safer for children to access YouTube and watch age-appropriate content without venturing too deep into the world’s largest online video streaming website. The YouTube for Kids app has now been updated and two new features have been added.

The company has described it as “the first Google product built from the ground up with little ones in mind,” it provides children with curated age-appropriate videos in a bright and playful design.

YouTube for Kids is broken down into four sections: music, shows, learning and explore. Content is being provided by partners such as Reading Rainbow, DreamWorks, Talking Tom and Friends, etc.

The latest update for YouTube for Kids adds an immersive full-screen mode to the app. The update also brings voice search improvements as well as the usual slew of bug fixes so that its even more fun for kids to explore and watch content using this app.

Parents need not worry about maintaining control over the content. Parental control options offered include the ability to set viewing limits and even tweak sound options. Parents can choose to disable the search feature which will limit kids to just curated content that’s displayed on the home screen.

YouTube for Kids is a free app available for both Android and iOS.
