Acer Liquid Z410-0020HTC isn’t doing too well at the moment and this has been going on for a long time now. This is why it does not come as a surprise to hear that other companies could be eyeing HTC for a possible buyout. In fact recently we heard that ASUS was open to the idea of acquiring HTC but HTC has since denied that they were for sale or interested in entertaining such ideas.

That being said, a report from DigiTimes claims that Acer has since come forward to clarify that they do not have plans to acquire HTC either. Why would Acer say that? Apparently the company’s CEO was asked about that possibility during a shareholders meeting in which Acer’s CEO Jason Chen denied that they were considering the idea of an acquisition or possible merger.

We suppose Acer acquiring or merging with HTC would make for an interesting situation. Acer is known more for their computers rather than mobile devices, and the mobile devices that the company has put forward have been lackluster at best, so by merging or acquiring HTC, it would give them the resources needed in order to make better smartphones.

However like we said, Chen has since denied that this is how the company would be moving forward, although he did state that at some point in time, Acer was approached by three different handset brands about a possible buyout.
