Apple announced its new music streaming service called Apple Music at the Worldwide Developers Conference earlier this month and back then it revealed that its first 24-hour live internet radio station titled Beats 1 will start broadcasting on the very same day that Apple Music is launched. Now we have some specific information regarding the start of that radio station, Beats 1 will start broadcasting on June 30th at 9 AM PT, this has been confirmed by Apple’s Music Senior Director and ex Beats Music CEO Ian C. Rogers.

Rogers made this announcement via Twitter, revealing that Beats 1 is going to set sail at 9 am Tuesday morning with former BBC DJ Zane Lowe leading the festivities.

Apple is also going to bring in some very big names from the music industry to guest DJ, including but not limited to Elton John, Drake and Pharrell.

Pharrell is also going to launch his new single as an Apple Music exclusive, the single will go live alongside the service on Tuesday, June 30th as well.

Beats 1 will go live alongside Apple Music, which requires the iOS 8.4 firmware update in order to set the stage for the new music streaming service.

Expect Apple to roll out this software update in the very near future so that everything is set for the Apple Music launch.
