crowd-control-droneIt has probably crossed the mind of every student that exams would be so much easier if they could cheat, and while it might be a fleeting thought for some of us, there are some students who have taken cheating to whole new levels which might explain why watches and smartwatches are banned from some schools as they could be used for cheating.

That being said to help combat the high-tech nature of cheats, schools need to come up with similar high-tech methods of detection too. No longer can they rely on teachers to patrol the aisles and watch for cheats. Instead over in China, some schools have taken to using drones to help scope out cheats.

Now the drone won’t be used so much as an eagle-eyed monitor, but rather it will be able to tune in and pinpoint radio frequencies. It seems that one of the popular methods of cheating in China now involve wearing a hidden earphone in which the answers to the questions will be relayed, but thanks to these drones, it will be able to locate the source of the transmissions.

According to Zeng Yingyong, a secretary of Luoyang’s radio management bureau, “At big exams like these, there are always ‘mystery men’ figures in the background.” Unfortunately while these drones are a pretty clever idea, we suppose eventually students will figure out a new way which really turns this into a game of cat and mouse, but it’s still a good attempt nonetheless.
