cucibottone“Gone in 60 Seconds” – can you still remember that Hollywood movie? It certainly did not hit it off like other Nicolas Cage movies, but there is just something about fast cars that get the pulse racing. Having said that, if you could sew a button in less than 60 seconds, that would certainly be quite a feat, don’t you think so? Of course, I am not referring to any seasoned seamstress, but rather, a regular Joe on the street who has never threaded a thread through the eye of a needle before. Enter the Cucibottone, which is a Kickstarter project that claims to be able to let you sew a button in less than a minute.

Imagine being able to do so without the need for any kind of sewing skill, now how about that? Cucibottone will a very thin (0,03″) thread, although it will be resistant to boot. Once you have sewn it, you do not need to worry about having buttons fall out any more, which can be quite the embarrassing situation when you think about it.

The Cucibottone will play nice with any two- and four-hole button, and even shank buttons to boot. Sewing kits are passe – the Cucibottone looks to be the future, although it might be rather limited in its reach. Hopefully the Kickstarter project won’t die off like the CST-01 watch!
