dark_sky_appIn countries where the weather can be fickle and if you’re trying to determine if you should wear a jacket today, or if it’s a good time to go to the beach, or if you should pack an umbrella, this is where weather apps come in handy. Now if you have ever tried searching for the top weather apps, Dark Sky is a name that constantly pops up.

The good news is that if you’re already a Dark Sky user, you will be pleased to learn that the developers have recently given the app a rather useful update. The app has been updated to now take advantage of the barometer sensors installed in the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus to help provide more accurate weather readings.

For those unfamiliar, barometers are a tool used to measure atmospheric pressure, which in turn is also used to forecast the weather among other things. So now that the app can take advantage of the sensors built into your iPhone, hopefully it should be able to spit back more accurate readings when it comes to the weather.

The update has also brought about a new visual layout and users will be able to create customized notifications for certain changes in the weather. Now for those who don’t have the app, it is rather pricey at $4 but if getting the most accurate weather readings is important to you, perhaps it could be worth the download. Hit up the iTunes App Store for the details.
