There were rumors over the past few weeks that Dark Souls 3 is going to be unveiled at the E3 2015 gaming convention in Los Angeles and that’s precisely what has happened today. Bandai Namco has officially unveiled Dark Souls 3 today and it has also confirmed that the title is going to be released in 2016. A pre-rendered trailer for Dark Souls 3 was shown off during the announcement which provided a brief glimpse of what to expect from the title.
Recently there was quite a major leak concerning Dark Souls 3, which hinted at the possibility of the title being released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the PC.
The leak also mentioned that Dark Souls 3 will allow players to equip sword fighting arts that work as special moves, the ability to alter worlds that can changes the bosses being fought and to perform a sacrifice ritual that lets the player enter other games while putting a bounty on their head.
Bandai Namco’s announcement of Dark Souls 3 today didn’t include any mention of Hidetaka Miyazaki, the series creator, and his possible association with the sequel.
The first official trailer is really all there is to know about Dark Souls 3 at this point in time, Bandai Namco will reveal details as the release approaches, but since that’s not going to happen before 2016 we’re certainly in for a long wait.
