fujifilm x100t_2Fujifilm’s X100 series of cameras are probably extremely underrated, especially when you consider that the company isn’t as marketed heavily as other brands out there, such as Sony, Canon, or Nikon, but at the same time searching for reviews of the X100 series of cameras will yield mostly positive results.

However for a compact camera, they can be rather pricey with the latest model, the X100T, being sold on Amazon for $1,300. Now if you’re after a camera with the X100 series quality and design, here’s a rumor you might be interested in. According to the folks at Fuji Rumors, they have heard from their “trusted” source that Fujifilm is working on a smaller and cheaper version.

The alleged smaller and cheaper sibling of the X100 series will apparently be the Fujifilm X70. To help cut costs and size, it is rumored that the camera will do away with the viewfinder, thus giving photographers only the LCD screen to work with, which we guess given that’s how we generally use our smartphone’s camera, it shouldn’t be too difficult.

The rumor also claims that there will be a new lens, but it is unclear as to what lens it might be As it stands, the X100T uses a 23mm f/2.0 lens which basically makes it a 35mm lens on a full-frame camera, making it ideal for street photography, so we have to wonder what kind of lens Fujifilm might include with the rumored X70. Until we hear an official announcement, do take it with a grain of salt for now.
