As it stands, Blizzard’s free-to-play card game Hearthstone relies on several classes available in their Warcraft franchise. You have rogues, warlocks, druids, shamans, paladins, and so on, you get the idea. Each class is tied to a particular hero in the Warcraft universe that is known for being that class which admittedly does feel a bit limiting.

However Blizzard wants to change that by introducing hero skins to the game. Basically gamers will be able to add a new hero skin to the class/deck they are playing. For example in the first hero skin launch, Blizzard has introduced Magni Bronzebeard. Those familiar with Warcraft lore knows that he is of a warrior class.

So instead of having Garrosh Hellscream as your deck’s avatar and hero, gamers can replace him with Magni instead. He will come with custom emotes, a new voiceover, and new animated hero power. They will also come with a unique card back for gamers who are collecting these. However like we said these are just skins so apart from a new look, nothing else has changed in the way the game is played.

Unfortunately it seems that these skins are not free. Instead they are priced at $9.99 each which seems a tad expensive but given that Hearthstone is a free-to-play title, that’s one of the ways Blizzard will be able to make money from it. The skins have yet to be released and according to Blizzard, they will be coming soon with the first release being Magni Bronzebeard.
