Hydrating ourselves throughout the day is important as it does more than quench our thirst. It helps with weight loss, skin complexion, and even dieting as water will fill you up, thus potentially removing any cravings you’re having at the moment. However if you’re the type that’s too busy to realize you need a drink until you’re thirsty, you’re in luck.

Launching on Kickstarter is a water bottle called HidrateMe (via TechCrunch). This isn’t just any regular water bottle, it is a connected one which comes with a built-in sensor and an accompanying smartphone app that will be able to keep track of your hydration throughout the day. It will also be able to notify you when it thinks that you have not had a drink of water in a long time.

The bottle itself will be a 710ml bottle made from BPA-free Tritan plastic. It will be dishwasher safe and comes with a leak-proof cap, and based on what we can see it sports a rather sleek and funky design that will probably appeal to the younger crowds. We should note that HidrateMe is not the first smart water bottle.

There have been others in the past but so far it looks like HidrateMe is doing exceedingly well on Kickstarter. They have managed to raise over $50,000 at this time of writing and are over their funding goals as well. With 40 days to go, we wouldn’t be surprised if it were able to double or even triple its funding. We love the idea and the design of HidrateMe and if you’d like to help back the project, hit up its Kickstarter page for the details.
