hitman_sniperYesterday we reported that Square Enix Montreal had announced that come 4th of June, Hitman: Sniper would be released on iOS and Android devices. True to their word and after what felt like months of teasing and waiting, the game has been officially released and if you’re a fan of the Hitman franchise and sniper games, it’s a title you’ll want to check out.

The game is currently available for purchase on the iTunes App Store and Google Play where it is priced at $4.99. This is admittedly a tad expensive as previously, the developers behind the game were planning to make it a free-to-play title, similar to Hitman GO. According to the devs, “We are excited to share that Hitman: Sniper will launch as a premium title focused around a creative, leaderboard-driven sandbox for players to experience.”

As expected, gamers will take on the role of Agent 47 and you will have to play through sniper missions set in Montenegro. Based on what we can tell so far, it sounds and looks like a pretty awesome game whose music actually reminds us a bit of James Bond. The maps have been designed to be replayable so that gamers can achieve the perfect/highest score possible.

That being said, the developers have warned that the game will be rather intense on your mobile devices so if you don’t have a high-end smartphone or tablet, the gameplay might suffer, but presumably it should have no issues running on the latest iOS and Android devices.
