It has been widely tipped that Huawei will be introducing the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for its current range of Android-powered devices, and as for an exact release date, that remains to be seen. However, it could be real soon, especially when one takes into consideration how a video of the Ascend Mate7 that runs on the Emotion 3.1 UI which is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop has appeared, as you can see the proof above for yourself. In other words, those who already own the Huawei Ascend Mate7 would be in for some very interesting times ahead.

In the video that is shown above, it will feature a split screen multitasking mode that will come with a pair of very different applications that will run simultaneously. It is not different from what LG and Samsung smartphones have to offer their users for some time already, but it is still a novelty – especially for first timers.

Apart from that, there was also a particularly useful option to minimize the display as well as other features that facilitate a single-handed operation, which would definitely come in handy when you are preoccupied with something else. This might be the reason why the Ascend Mate7 decided to give the Android 5.0 Lollipop bus a miss and jump straight to Android 5.1 from the current Android 4.4 KitKat.
