Huawei might not be the first name that you would think of when it comes to tablets, but that does not matter – it is still worth considering if one were to look at how far they have come in an objective manner. In fact, in March earlier this year, Huawei introduced the Huawei MediaPad X2 tablet, and here we are with yet another model for your consideration if you are looking outside of the Windows and iOS arenas – the all new MediaPad M2.

The Huawei MediaPad M2 will be a rather slim device at just 7.8mm thin, where it intends to continue from where the MediaPad M1 left off from the previous year. It must be noted that the MediaPad M1 happens to be a mid-range device, which means the features that the MediaPad M2 comes with are far more attractive, as you can see in the promo video above.

Touted to be “the world’s first unibody 4G LTE tablet”, the MediaPad M2 will have Android 5.1 Lollipop as the mobile operating system of choice. Your eyes will be greeted by the 8” IPS display with 1200 x 1920 pixels, where it has Huawei’s very own 64-bit octa-core Kirin 930 processor running underneath the hood at 2.0GHz, an 8MP camera located at the back, a 2MP camera in front, Harman/Kardon’s Clari-Fi technology, a HiFi Codec Hi6402 and stereo speakers with “Super Wide Sound.”

You can choose from the 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory model or the more premium 3GB RAM and double the amount of internal memory, but both models will sport a microSD memory card slot and a 4,800mAh battery. There is no word on pricing as at press time.
