instagram_exploreInstagram is a great way to see what your friends, musicians, celebrities, artists, and random strangers are up to as far as their photos are concerned. Many companies use it as a way to keep customers updated, and it is also used as a portfolio of sorts by photographers to show off their work.

Now Instagram’s Explore feature used to be pretty simple in which it would display photos it thinks you might like. However it looks like Instagram believes that more work could be done and in the latest update which brings the app to version 7.0, the company has introduced an updated Search and Explore feature.

instagram_explore_curatedWith the Explore feature, Instagram has made it so that it will display photos that are trending in real-time from all over the world. It will also introduce curated collections that appears above the page, so if you want to explore photos that you normally don’t, this is a good way to start, although unfortunately the updated Explore feature is only available to those in the US at the moment.

instagram_updated_searchAs for Search, Instagram has introduced two new features: Top and Places. Top basically lets you search across everything such profile names, places, and hashtags at the same time, while Places lets you search for photos taken in a particular part of the world. Thankfully this feature will be available for everyone. To get the latest update, hit up the iTunes App Store or Google Play for the download.
