apple-ipad-mini-review--22Death comes to us all – and in the life cycle of gadgets and consumer electronics, it would be termed as EOL – End Of Life. Having said that, we now remember the original Apple iPad mini as it is no longer available on sale at the Apple Store – not to mention removed from Apple’s website to boot. The iPad mini was Apple’s original 7.9” tablet, where it was unveiled on October 23rd, 2012.

Of course, it is far from surprising that this has happened, since the original iPad mini came with a resolution of 768 x 1024, which would result in a pixel density of 162ppi. While that might be considered to be the bee’s knees back in the day, this is just half of what the iPad mini 2 as well as iPad mini 3 offer – 324ppi.

It must be noted that the iPad mini was wildly successful, and it did not cannibalize the iPad’s sales as some predicted. Well, time has certainly changed the taste of consumers, and now that iPhone screen sizes have gotten larger, perhaps there is no longer a need for the likes of the iPad mini to be in the market. Hence, if you would want to pick up an iPad mini today, you will have to settle for the iPad mini 2 that sports an entry price tag of $299 onward, depending on what you would like to see it come with.
