When it comes to the hardware specs race, Apple has typically stayed out of it, biding their time to introduce hardware upgrades to their mobile devices. However with the upcoming iPhone 6s, things could change as Apple could be thinking about introducing a 2K display to the iPhone 6s Plus.
This is according to a rumor from Chinese website Feng.com (via BGR) who claims that Apple will introduce higher display resolutions to its iPhone 6s lineup to better compete against Samsung’s Galaxy Note series of smartphones. The 4.7-inch iPhone 6s is said to be bumped to a Full HD display, while the iPhone 6s Plus will be upgraded to a 2K display.
As it stands, the iPhone 6 has a resolution of 1334×750 while the iPhone 6 Plus has a Full HD resolution. Based on Apple’s history, we have to admit that it seems unlikely that we will be seeing these rumored display upgrades. In fact as it stands, there are still many apps out there who have yet to optimize their graphics for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus resolutions, so we can only imagine it would have a greater disparity if Apple were to introduce even higher resolutions this time round.
In any case take it with a grain of salt for now and as unlikely as it sounds, we suppose we wouldn’t mind having higher resolutions, but what say you? Are you happy with your iPhone displays the way they are, or do you think they could stand to be improved upon?
