leanchair

As people gradually came to grips with the potential health risks of sitting on a chair all day, which is inevitable for most people who work desk jobs, the time came to come up with an alternative and thus the standing desk was invented. It’s just like your regular desk but instead of sitting, you stand and the desk is of appropriate height to ensure that you can do all of your work while remaining on your two feet. The LeanChair is a new invention that aims to bridge the gap between the sitting and standing desks.

LeanChair is actually a project on Kickstarter by Wayne Yeager, who is a software developer. Yaeger tried a standing desk and after just one hour found it to be very uncomfortable which led to the invention of the LeanChair.

As the name suggests the LeanChair lets you lean back while you’re working, it takes some of the body weight off of your legs and feet and transfers it to the chair that you’re leaned on.

It has a solid build, thanks to a padded back and structural support legs made out of steel, it even has an integrated platform for keyboard and mouse.

The project is well underway on Kickstarter, pledging $295 will get you your very own LeanChair which will be shipped to customers in the United States only. It had a $25,000 crowdfunding goal and over $30,000 has already been raised with nearly 20 days still to go before the campaign is over.
