Nokia-Lumia-930-Beauty2As much as one can do during a beta testing of a piece of software, sometimes there are just scenarios in which you can’t plan for or anticipate. In the case of the Lumia 930, it seems that several users have reported that their phones are rebooting at random times. According to one user, the reboots happened when he was taking photos so it was assumed that it had to do with the camera app.

Now if you’re a Lumia 930 owner who is suffering from these random reboots, you will be pleased to learn that Microsoft has recently begun to push out a critical update that should address the problem. Upon updating, your phone’s OS version should be 8.10.14226.359 and your firmware revision number should be 02540.00019.14522.26006.

In a statement made by Microsoft after acknowledging the issue, “We identified a problem in some versions of Windows Phone 8.1 that could cause a phone to restart periodically. A critical update will fix this problem. If you’re unable to install the update or want to learn more, we can help you fix your phone.”

The update should be rolling out to users as we speak, assuming that you have an unlocked version of the handset. Even if you don’t experience the random reboots, it is advised that you should just accept the update and install it anyway just in case it does happen to you further down the road.
